I’m Ali and write about all things British, great and beautifully designed, from hotels and restaurants, to interiors, gardens and style.
If it’s made in Britain, it might just appear on these pages.
I’ve spent the last 15 years travelling the world and reporting on everything from fashion and beauty, to design and interiors, food and travel, but my passion is for the fabulous things I find on my own doorstep. British design, manufacturing, innovation and style are renowned the world over, but often overlooked in the UK itself.
This blog aims to put that right, and demonstrate what exciting, eclectic and amazing places and products can be found in Britain.

I’m a working journalist for everyone from Metro and the Independent to the Mail, Gurgle and Red magazine, and a brand content strategist (that means I create lovely words and pictures and campaigns for the likes of Christie’s International Real Estate, Tesco, Sotheby’s, Knight Frank, The Co-operative, Eurostar and others) – but that’s my day job.
I’m always available for commissions and the pitch ideas or advise on strategy.
